Hi, I'm Rachel Kim.

I am a second-year PhD student in Societal Computing at Carnegie Mellon University in the School of Computer Science's Software and Societal Systems Department. I am advised by Hoda Heidari and Rayid Ghani.

I am broadly interested in evaluating the real-world impact of AI systems, especially with regards to their effects on people and society. I am also interested in exploring how AI systems can be designed, developed, and deployed more responsibly, and evaluating tools that have been created towards this end.

I completed my HBSc in Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Toronto. During my undergraduate years, I had the honour of working with Ashton Anderson and Peter Marbach.

If you want to get in touch, please email me at rachelmkim [at] cmu [dot] edu!
